Pirate Bay backs Pinoys in Cybercrime Laws
As of Monday morning, Pirate Bay had put up a clickable banner reading, "JUNK THE CYBERCRIME LAW (R.A. 10175)". The banner ad linked to an online petition calling for the repeal of the law and its controversial provisions which, critics say, would adversely affect free expression in the Philippines. .
International human rights and press freedom groups had joined earlier joined in the growing chorus of cries against the law. Legislators that had voted for the measure last week began to backpedal from the Cybercrime Prevention Act, and specifically from provisions that bring the Philippines' criminal libel laws into the Internet realm, as well as the law's Section 19, which experts warn would empower government to take down sites without benefit for any warrant from courts.

If We Lost Our Moon
Earth is like a giant plate spinning on top of a performer’s pole and, like the plate, if it spins too slowly, the wobble will get bigger until it falls over. if the Earth does slow down too much then its natural wobble will become more extreme.
It is quite likely that humans would survive such an event because we are able to adapt quickly and even use technology to help. The planet’s ecosystem, on the other hand, may have problems evolving fast enough, succumbing to the extra hot summers and sub-arctic winters.
Next time you take a walk by the coast or look up at the moon, just remember that the Earth and moon are enjoying a wonderfully symbiotic relationship at the moment. But in billions of years’ if it happens before the sun dies or before we get zapped by a gamma ray burst or even destroy ourselves, then that quiescent mystical object might just become our nemesis!
